Homemade music video

Homemade music video

The first music video I am going to be analysing is going to be a song called Buried My Heart by Jet City Crawl.

http://vimeo.com/channels/24235

The music video is filmed entirely with a Canon 60D camera, the song was also written and performed by Jet City Crawl.

The video starts of with a close up shot of a girl singing the song, the shot is from the side of the face, by doing this it creates the effect that she is talking to someone that isn't there but is almost missing. The shot is also in black and white from the start to about 1 minute 22 seconds in to the video, by doing this it creates a mournful atmosphere which goes well with the way the girl is singing into the empty space of the screen. After this the video changes to a  very brightly lit room with her laying in a bed on her own still, it then carries on with the character on her own in different types of scenes, until about three minutes six seconds, when a male figure appears behind her which has been edited, changing the contrast of him so that you can only see the dark parts of his face. The bad thing about this video is that around 03:34 you can see that the editing is not as good as it could be as you can see where they have layered over the same image.
